The Agriculture program at Allan Hancock College, Santa Maria is seeking applications to develop a qualified pool of part-time faculty for in-person instructional vacancies.
Positions are available as determined by need during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2024-2025 academic years.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. * Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. * Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas. * Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member. * Teach all scheduled classes. * Maintain accurate records. * Assignments may include day, evening, or weekend classes. Responsibilities and duties may include teaching one or more classes in any one of the disciplines within the Agriculture program (plant science, agribusiness, animal science, precision agriculture, pest management, crop production, soil science, mechanized agriculture, agriculture technology). Successful candidates will be able to provide evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Master's degree in agriculture, agricultural science, education with a specialization in agriculture or other agricultural area (including: agricultural business, agricultural engineering, agricultural mechanics, agronomy, animal science, enology, environmental/ornamental horticulture, forestry, natural resources, plant science, pomology, soil science, viticulture or other agriculture science) OR the equivalent.
