General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Reporting to the Food Safety/Quality Manager, the Sanitation Technician is responsible for keeping the facilities in a clean and orderly manner. The Sanitation Technician follows through on set processes daily to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and product quality standards. The Sanitation Technician interacts daily with Plant Manufacturing Personnel, Maintenance Personnel, and Food Safety/Quality Technician.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:



  • Ability to manage your time efficiently
  • Work well when supervisors are not present
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Handle basic cleaning and other janitorial work
  • Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies
  • Able to use basic cleaning equipment
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with regard to all Quality processes and procedures. Incorporates feedback from others to improve personal performance


Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:



  • Responsible for Sanitation of Processing Equipment
  • Responsible for daily facility sanitation and custodial duties including, but not limited to sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and tidying production and non-production workspaces
  • Responsible for collecting and removing trash from office, break rooms, maintenance shops, warehouse, plant, and building perimeter
  • Notify Management immediately if product quality of Food Safety is compromised
  • Properly fill out the required paperwork
  • The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
