This position is a Researcher 6 position responsible for initiating a large field study on how vegetation and worm ecology affects the redistribution of heavy metals in soils. Work includes pilot sampling of field plots, testing of experimental methods and sample processing, coordination across involved labs, and researching and establishment of field sites. 25% Field Surveys Qualifications
Essential Qualifications: PhD in Ecology or related fields. Driving license and clean driving record. Expertise in vegetation and ecosystems of the upper Midwest. Physically capable for general outdoor work (good vision, ability to work outdoors during diverse weather conditions, walk, work on hands and knees, lift moderate weight objects (40lb)). Experience doing field work, lab work, data collection, data curation and analysis. Experience with maps, GIS and skills related to site selection. Experience with sampling terrestrial communities, including soils, plants, and invertebrates. Hard work ethic and positive attitude. Ability to work independently and with others. Benefits
