No Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion at Getty Getty believes diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion are essential to our excellence and to the execution of our mission. The Getty community values differences in the pursuit of inquiry and knowledge, mutual understanding, respect, trust, transparency, and cooperation. We are committed to creating a diverse and welcoming workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve and includes individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Individuals of color, women, LGBTQIA+, veterans, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Job Summary At the Getty Foundation, we are seeking to advance art historical scholarship, conserve works of art and architecture, increase access to museum and archival collections, and train the next generation of arts professionals. We work in partnership with the field through strategic grantmaking. We are seeking a thoughtful, energetic, and detail-oriented professional interested in learning the work of arts philanthropy to join our team as a Program Assistant. The Grants Programming team at the Foundation consults with experts here at Getty and across the globe in art history, museums, and conservation to identify needs in the field and devise creative solutions that can be achieved through strategic funding. Reporting to the Senior Program Officer responsible for national and international grant initiatives in art history and art archives, this position affords the candidate an exciting opportunity to learn about grant making, from inception-including project development and application review and approval-to implementation, closure, and impact assessment. The role entails a high degree of contact with universities, archives, and research centers worldwide. The Program Assistant will join a dynamic program team dedicated to advancing Getty's philanthropic activities in the arts globally. Our beautiful campus is filled with art, archives and special collections, a full slate of speakers and programs, and a world-class research library. We offer paid vacation, every other Friday off, excellent benefits, and a dedication to balancing work and personal life. We work onsite and the expectation is that the candidate will reside within a commutable distance of Getty. However, the Foundation offers a telework policy, for which this position would be eligible, based on satisfactory job performance. This position offers the opportunity to travel nationally to conferences once or twice a year, and additional opportunities for professional development. Note: A writing sample is required to apply for this position. Please either include a link or attach a one-page writing sample (can include blog or social media post, review, essay) to the end of your resume before uploading. Major Job Responsibilities
