MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 15 years' work-related experience or a Master's degree in Engineering and 13 years' work-related experience or a Ph.D. and 10 years' work-related experience in a relevant technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Application of complex, technical professional disciplines and the extensive, applied use of related concepts, practices, and methods
  • Written and oral communication, leadership, problem solving skills, and short-term and long-term planning skills


DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Experience configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, So)
  • Experience with VMware virtualization tools to include vSphere to include their interoperability with networks
  • Experience performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Experience with logical isolation of virtual enclaves to support isolated test environments
  • Experience with configuring/administering NetApp storage networks
  • Military experience, experience as a DoD contractor or both
  • CCNA desired
  • VMware Certified Professional desired

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform independent analysis, evaluation, and integration solutions to complex technical problems to meet management objectives
  • Encourage optimum design within customer specifications, quality standards, schedule, and funding limitations
  • Perform complex analysis on projects or major phases of projects to enhance the technical and economic development of the product.
  • Resolve a variety of technical problems leading to advanced engineering studies designed to increase efficiency or reduce costs.
  • Develop and deliver complex technical presentations to senior management and customers
  • Represent the company as a prime technical customer contact on specialized projects or programs
  • Interact with senior management and customer personnel on significant technical matters, advanced technical research studies, and applications
  • Provide functional and technical guidance to engineering staff and customers
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
