Creighton University's Doctoral Program in Interdisciplinary Leadership seeks candidates from a social science-oriented scholarly field to join the program in an affiliate special faculty role as a Dissertation Faculty Member. Dissertation Faculty Members teach a proposal construction class, then mentor a small group (4-6) of students through the process of completing their dissertations, including the proposal defense (via webinar), independent research, and finally, the final defense of their dissertations (also conducted through a webinar). Dissertation faculty are paid at four points: 1) upon receipt of a signed contract to serve as a chair for a student; 2) after teaching the proposal construction class; 3) when a student successful defends their proposal; and 4) a final payment after the student successfully defends their dissertation. Interviews are held in May-June and November-December each year (the course is offered in August and March, respectively). Applicants will be reviewed using a two-stage process. First, the search committee will review submitted dossiers. Second, promising candidates will be interviewed by webinar. After the second stage, decisions on our pool of five to eight dissertation faculty members are made. Candidates will be notified of the search committee s decisions about four to six weeks before the proposal construction class starts. Required training (via webinars) occurs after hire.
