Investment Summer Intern

Cabot Properties is offering an exciting internship position in our Boston office for the summer of 2024. The program offers interns a unique opportunity to engage in the acquisition of real estate in the industrial sector. The investment process develops transactional, financial, development and investment management skills. This provides interns an introduction to private equity real estate in the industrial sector and leads to a understanding of the structure of real estate transactions.

This individual will report directly to the Associate-level members of the Investments team, the Investment Intern will be responsible for handling a wide range of support-related tasks focused on underwriting of investment opportunities, review of due diligence materials, market research, and all other components of the investment process. The Investment Intern will be a highly resourceful team player, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, and efficient. The individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Work with members of the Investment Team to support investment activity across all of Cabot's investment vehicles
  • Prepare and enter abstracts for commercial leases into accounting database
  • Assist in the preparation of investment underwriting in both Argus and Excel
  • Update Cabot's lease and sales transaction database maintained in Excel
  • Conduct market and submarket level research using CoStar and other supplementary data sources
  • Special projects for the Investments team, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Qualifications and Experience:



  • Proven record of academic performance
  • Preferred graduation date of 2025
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Proficiency with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Access)
  • Works effectively and cooperatively as a member of a team
  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving skills with ability to multi-task
  • Basic finance, accounting and business knowledge is preferred



Physical/Mental/Visual Demands and Work Environment:



  • The job is conducted in an office work environment, sitting most of the time
  • Approximately 90% of this position's duties require use of a computer
