As an Associate Scientist or Scientist for the nonclinical development team focusing on bioassay development, you'll work closely with scientists in Research, Development, Clinical and Regulatory teams to advance our drug discovery programs. You will be able to contribute across a variety of programs ranging from early research to clinical stage and have broad involvement in work central to Alector's strategic goals. You will apply your existing technical skills, learn new skills, and play a key role in the nonclinical and clinical development of the programs and help grow the company.

During the first year, your goals will include:



    • Develop and qualify pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, immunogenicity, and cell-based neutralizing antibody assays for various programs and perform PK and PD sample analysis supporting tox studies
    • Summarize bioanalytical results, prepare and review technical reports in support of business development activities and regulatory filings
    • Participate in regular cross-functional team meetings and present as needed


We'd love to hear from you if you have:



    • Ph.D. with at least two OR MS with at least three OR BS with at least five years of bioanalytical assay development experience
    • Experience in developing and/or validating pharmacokinetics, biomarkers, immunogenicity assays (ELISA, MSD ECL assays, Gyrolab immunoassays, etc.) for biologics
    • Cell-based assays for the detection of neutralizing antibodies to drug products are a plus
    • Detailed understanding of the FDA's and EMA's regulatory guidance related to bioanalytical assays
    • Excellent communication and writing skills and thrive in an environment where we work independently and on teams
    • Proven a track record of learning new skills and troubleshooting independently and take pride in being self-motivated and efficient
