About this Position:

Manage all aspects of the execution of accessory development from plan definition through first article inspection. Coordinate with key suppliers and CBU development team to achieve the desired innovation and integration level of accessory parts. Develop product roadmaps and strategies for future models with Planning and Sales.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support Planning in establishing an Accessory Line Up to drive unit sales & maximize profit. Provide high level ideas to develop strategic plans to identify new accessories and roll out timing across models. Set complex product roadmaps to support strategy.

  • Lead suppliers to create accessory designs that achieve development objectives. Manage part cost to defined budget. Ensure supplier tool maturation and trial part on time delivery.

  • Coordinate with the development team to set accessory integration and implementation targets to achieve seamless integrated appearance and ease of installation.

  • Confirm supplier designs by leading accessory DPM, part fitment, inspections and test events with key stakeholders. Collaborate with technical leadership to establish accessory test criteria and make final judgement on test results.

  • Confirm supplier parts meet design intent, vehicle fitment, packaging requirements and part quality. Review and approve final development and first article parts prior to releasing for production.

  • Approve installation instructions and ensure they are complete in time for product release.

  • Generate complex ideas for shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures. Develop and implement C/M as necessary with limited supervision

Required Work Experience:

  • 5+ years engineering experience preferably in Powersports or Automotive field or 8+ years of related work experience may be substituted.

Required Education:

  • Bachelors Engineering Degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • Ability to understand cad layouts, drawings and technical data
  • Ability to interact/communicate effectively with staff/management
  • Must be able to operate with high level of confidentiality
  • Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making and prioritization skills
  • Competent in creating a plan and schedule
  • Competent in understand product development schedules
  • Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel and Power Point)
