The newly formed Department of Urban Public Health, within the Robert and Donna Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences (MCNHS) at the University of Massachusetts Boston, invites candidates for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to begin September 1, 2023. This recruitment is part of a cluster hire to launch the department, which is expected to enroll the first cohort of students in the fall of 2023. Preferred candidates should have experience and interest in leadership and undergraduate and graduate program development. Our Urban Public Health programs focus on health across the life course of diverse populations with emphasis on reducing racial disparities and promoting health equity. Applicants should provide their CV and a cover letter that includes (a) a summary of their research interests and experience, (b) a teaching statement that addresses ways anti-racism and social justice are incorporated into their professional activities (research, teaching, and service) to promote racial diversity and inclusivity within our college. The newly approved BS programs in Urban Public Health are designed in accordance with accreditation guidelines of the Council for Education in Public Health (CEPH). The Nursing Department and Exercise and Health Sciences Department in the College both offer BS, MS, and PhD/DNP programs. The PhD in nursing program focuses on population health and health policy.
