This is an excellent opportunity for a Centralized Service-Registered Nurse Manager (40 hrs/wk, benefits eligible).
PURPOSE of POSITION:
Under the direction of the Clinical Informatics Manager and Centralized Service Center Manager, the Centralized Service RN Manager will be responsible for all aspects of supervising the CFU (Centralized Follow Up)RNs, providing medical follow-up to patients as needed, and responding to medical related patient and staff inquiries. The Centralized Service RN Manager serves as a clinical resource for other CFU staff. In collaboration with the Centralized Service Center Manager and Clinical Informatics Manager, this position will assist in creating and maintaining quality medical standards and systems for Centralized Services and assist in the training of CFU RNs in implementation of current and new medical services, protocols, and procedures.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
* Must have current licensure as a registered professional nurse by the State of Wisconsin
* Associate degree or diploma nursing required; Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.
* Minimum of 1 year's work as a RN, with some experience in family planning, case management, women's health or an OB/GYN setting required.
* Current CPR certified.
* Must have demonstrated a minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling, and grasping regularly. May require lifting to 30 pounds. Specific vision conditions include close vision reading. Requires the ability to operate a computer, telephone, fax, copy machine and adding machine or calculator. Requires the ability to operate medical equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position is performed in a medical office environment while sitting in front of a computer but involves frequent interruptions. The noise level is low to medium. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment. Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.
This position requires travel statewide, therefore consistent access to transportation is required. If you drive your personal car for work a valid driver's license and auto insurance in accordance with agency liability standards is required.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • RN Manager Duties
  • Ensure/oversee daily review of Provider Approval Queues (PAQ) by licensed staff is completed to include accepting and signing off all normal and abnormal laboratory results defined in PPWI protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Acts as both a clinical and administrative resource to CFU RN team in administering information to patients, assessing patient needs, revising/implementing plans of care, facilitating the follow-up and referral process as needed and implementing the policies and procedures including workflow and resource materials for CFU staff.
  • Ensure/oversee CFU RN's creating patient-related follow-up plans per standing orders for abnormal test results and referrals, ensure medically accurate education & documentation. Provide guidance regarding RN tasking/inbox, entering alerts, starting notifications, and maintaining the next action date tickler system.
  • Provide guidance to CFU RN's/staff in their CFU daily duties to include problem solving any forthcoming concerns/issues.
  • Attend CFU meetings as needed, bringing any licensed staff issues to supervisor and CM for discussion if needed.
  • Seeks consultations as necessary from affiliate clinicians and/or lead clinician.
  • Monitor the RN inbox to ensure tasks are completed within required timeframes.
  • Ensure daily reports from electronic health records to determine next action steps in follow-up are completed.
  • Ensure that CFU RNs meet metrics for volume/time for reminder letters and contact attempts in conjunction with CM.
  • Communicate effectively, in conjunction with CM & Clinical Informatics Manager, with Health Center staff and Patient Services staff to maintain quality and consistency within the Centralized Services program.
  • Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures, state, and local laws, PPFA standards and recommendations impacting care assessment, access, and delivery.
  • Participates in agency quality assurance program. Under the direction of the Quality and Risk Manager, implements overall quality assurance activities including audits. Support risk and quality management by proactively communicating identified risks to supervisor to minimize risk when possible. Complete audits accurately and within a specified period as instructed and requested by Director of Quality Improvement/CM/or Clinical Informatics Manager.
  • Responsible for the timecard management, supervision, development, performance evaluation, and assist with hiring/firing of CFU RNs. Alert CM of any CFU RN staffing changes and adjust as needed.
  • Oversee and assist with conducting training of all new CFU RNs and non-licensed staff in conjunction with CM & Clinical Informatics Manager.
  • Assist CM with managing daily workflow of CFU RNs to meet quality and customer service metrics effectively and efficiently. Provide ongoing feedback to CM & Clinical Informatics Manager to keep apprised of workflow issues, staffing needs, system issues and needs for process improvement.
  • Act as a liaison with outside entities including but not limited to physicians, hospitals, health care vendors, social service agencies, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of PPWI organization to answer questions and direct calls correctly and appropriately.
  • Maintain knowledge of and utilize scheduling downtime procedure.
  • Accept and manage, respond in timely manner to emails, EHR inbox requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
