Compensation Data

The compensation for this position begins at $51,600 per year based on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary:

This job is responsible for providing a superior level of customer service and attention to customers who have a vehicle that needs repaired. The individual virtually inspects damage to a vehicle (which may include automobiles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and recreational vehicles), writes damage repair estimates, completes total loss valuations and negotiates moderately complex and occasionally complex settlements with repair facilities, tow yards, customers, and estimates repair times for rental/loss of use. The individual works independently, prioritizes the individual's own responsibilities, and manages the individual's own workload and is responsible for explaining coverage, estimates, claims, settlement, and rental processes to agents and/or customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigates moderately complex and occasionally complex files, reviews damage, takes photos, and determines reparability or total loss through virtual inspections
  • Prepares damage estimates or valuation for moderately complex and occasionally complex claims and locates parts
  • Conditions vehicles, prepares report for customer and determines valuation of salvage
  • Initiates payments (QCP, Fast Mobile Epay, etc.) and pays appropriate parties
  • Negotiates and settles moderately complex and occasionally complex claims in accordance with business unit best practices
  • Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
  • Reviews the Triage Tool and partners with the Good Hands Repair Network for vehicles that may be potential total losses, and determines reparability and if repairs can be settled rapidly
  • Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
  • Evaluates diminished value in a moderately complex and occasionally complex claim
  • Responds to moderately complex and occasionally complex arbitrations contentions
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job does not have supervisory duties.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED required (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
  • Minimum 12 months of Auto Technical Estimating/Insurance Estimating experience required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Has and maintains all appropriate licenses and registrations for the role per organizational or state requirements
Functional Skills:
  • This role may be virtual and the adjuster will work claims from the Virtual Triage Tool leveraging the use of the Virtual Assist application
  • Ability to interact effectively, and coach others on interacting effectively, with internal or external customers and act with empathy
  • Applies general and occasionally broad knowledge of insurance policy, coverage, and regulation
  • Applies general and occasionally broad knowledge of claim processes, policies, procedures, claim systems, coverage, liability, damage estimating, and/or settlement, and adherence to applicable legal compliance standards
  • Applies general and occasionally broad knowledge of analytical procedures to reconcile, manipulate, and recognize patterns of data
  • Applies general and occasionally broad conflict management and problem resolution skills in managing internal and external customer relationships
  • Ability to investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle moderately complex and occasionally complex claims
  • Provides individual decision making within authority limits
  • Applies general and occasionally broad negotiation and/or arbitration skills
