General Description of Position: The Vice President of Student Records and College Registrar provides the statewide vision and leadership for the student records enterprise at Ivy Tech Community College. The position is responsible for all policy and procedures relating to student records, manages the key student records systems of the college, including those for student information, degree audit, and curricula of record, informs and implements college strategy aimed at increasing student credential attainment. In addition, the position manages key student records processes of the college, including credit for prior learning, reverse transfer, the Admissions Processing Center, the Student Records hub, National Student Clearinghouse reporting and functions as the college's Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) authority.
Major Responsibilities:

Leads statewide vision and strategy and serves as the statewide College Registrar.

Provides leadership for processes and system support related to student records and academic information systems.

Leads the design and implementation of innovative technologies and processes to successfully meet statewide metrics and processes that support student retention and completion.

Collaborates with College leadership to develop and oversee implementation of college-wide registrar strategies.

Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal regulations relating to student records by recommending and overseeing policies and procedures related to access, privacy, and security of student information, with a particular regard to meeting legal requirements such as FERPA.

Serves as the primary resource to campus Registrars in matters relating to admissions records, registration, and student records processes and procedures.

Provides leadership, development, and trainingfor the campus Registrars and their staffs.

Oversees the management of the current student information systems relating to student and academic records (e.g. Banner, CollegeSource, Modern Campus, collegewide curriculum of record, and new systems that are developed).

Directs the College's reverse transfer process.

Oversees coordination of National Student Clearinghouse and Parchment responsibilities, to include submission of Student Status Confirmation Reports on a regular and timely basis, response to Degree Verify inquiries, and management of the online transcript ordering solution.

Responds to student data requests and other required submissons from state and federal agencies, including the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.

CONTACTS:
This position deals with various College officials centrally and employees at all 19 Ivy Tech campuses; faculty, staff, and administrators from other public and private colleges; and representatives from federal, state, and private sector agencies.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: Assistant College Registrar, Directors of Student Records, Director of Student Records Systems; supports campus registrar positions.


Minimum Qualifications:

A Master's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.

Experience in higher education leadership, including at in academic affairs. Experience with the management of student records required.

Experience with post-secondary information systems is required.

Experience managing multiple projects and leading others to success.

A leader with a record of success in delivering results. Leads with integrity and inspires others.

Strong collaborative leadership style and a strategic and creative approach to issues.

Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a strong analytical background are essential.

Possess expert knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and relevant state statutes and regulations. Ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous, team-oriented environment.
