Division Description

The Folding Carton Division is an industry leading manufacturer of folding cartons for food, beverage, tissue, hardware, confectionary, and many other industries. Employing around 300 people, this facility designs, prints, and manufactures folding cartons, trays, and counter displays for a broad range of products and customers.



Position Overview

The Production Manager provides leadership to the supervisory team and production work teams, reporting directly to the Plant Operations Manager. The Production Manager facilitates department meetings, intervenes as necessary to keep the goals and results consistent with company direction, and works with the supervisory team members to develop their full potential. This role, in conjunction with the team, is responsible for safety, quality, productivity, equipment condition, and housekeeping of the die cutting, finishing and shipping departments.



Responsibilities

    Plan, organize, direct, and run day-to-day operations to exceed yields, delivery, and efficiencies
  • Increase production efficiency, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining high quality standards
  • Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time delivery
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets and personnel to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions
  • Collect and analyze data to improve operations and eliminate waste
  • Develop and support a strong Safety culture
  • Maintain and support systems and processes that track and optimize performance metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Establish rapport with Union Board to resolve problems or complaints as effectively and efficiently as possible
  • Address employees' issues by coaching, training, and guiding the supervisors
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture


Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Business or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant operational or related experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to develop and influence personnel
  • Exhibits strong self-motivation, results-focused with a positive attitude.
  • Successfully able to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
