Looking to soar above the rest? We are looking for a Flight Instructor who can take our students to the next level in our pilot program. That next level being airborne & teaching others to get there too while working closely with ground instructors towards success for everyone in the program. Being composed is key for guiding students through any turbulence they may experience, airborne or not. Come join us to fly!

Pay Rate: $32.00 /hr

Schedule: Self determined schedule; Daily available pick up shifts (based on student requests & candidate availability); NCAT Campus

Quick Glance of Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.
  2. Maintaining students flight schedule and progress through the semester.
  3. Maintains accurate and complete records, including but not limited to CTA and attendance records, and Blackboard.
  4. Evaluates students to measure their progress toward the achievement of course outcomes/competencies.
  5. Manages and supervises students in all assigned simulator and flight laboratory activities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.



Teaching and Instruction

  1. Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum changes which meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.
  2. Ensures that each program/class meets the WSU Tech Course Standard, includes all appropriate curricular components, utilizes effective teaching methods/practices (pedagogy) and reflects current field practices.
  3. Plans each unit or lesson, both as to content and method. Provides lesson plans to the appropriate dean, program director, or designee. Publishes lesson plans on course syllabus
  4. Teaches and maintains an effective learning environment regardless of instructional modality.


Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Needed:

  • Qualifications required for mandatory program accreditation.

    • Current FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating, required.


  • Have and maintain a current Class 3 FAA Medical, required
  • Additional certification and experience, preferred:


    • Prior Flight Instructor experience
    • Part 141 experience
    • Current (CFII) Instrument Flight Instructor certified
    • Garmin G1000 experience
    • Cessna 172S experience
    • Frasca flight simulator experience
    • Cessna Flight Training syllabus and CTA experience


  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills where you can work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn & use personal computer and various software programs utilized daily in a teaching environment, strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Comfortable with course delivery method being hybrid as needed.
