We are seeking an inspired and dedicated Health Assistant/Floater for our Acelero Learning Head Start delegate in Clark County, Nevada. The program serves 1,400 children ages 3-5 in twelve centers. The Health Assistant/Floater also works as a member of an interdisciplinary team of health and family engagement staff to ensure implementation of all aspects of Acelero Learning's family engagement and health and wellness approach, with the goal of executing high quality two generation strategies that improve child and family outcomes and ensure school readiness.Preferred candidates will have background in supporting staff to execute family engagement and health strategies in low income communities. The position is located in the Southern part of Clark County, with local travel among the Centers, as well as limited national travel to participate in cross-network professional development meetings. Job Responsibilities: * Work collaboratively with the Health & Nutrition Coordinators to ensure the successful completion of screenings, timely follow up, and data entry for our children * Assist with health and safety monitoring, thereby assuring compliance with health and medication needs for enrolled children * Ensure 100% completion of 45/90 day screenings by providing monitoring support and on-site assistance to the Health & Disability Advocates at multiple sites * Model best practices and provide opportunities for learning during the on-boarding of new Health & Disability Advocates * Provide general support to the health team during peak times * Communication and Service Coordination * Record Keeping and Reporting * On-going Monitoring/Self-assessment * Planning and Implementing * Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment. * Support the health and well being of children. * Encourage the involvement of the families of the children in a Head Start program in their child's health Job Requirements: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Must have reliable transportation * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Able to lift a child weighing 40 pounds, 20 times a day if needed. * Intermediate computer skills including e-mail, data entry, and internet navigation. * Pass physical examination and all Head Start/licensing required background checks.
