Position Summary

The Digital QA Specialist will be an integral part of the Learning Experience team and should possess a strong attention to detail, a thorough understanding of learning technology development tools and experience with a learning management system.



Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities - (40%) Develop Documentation and Implement Quality Control Process:

    Create and document standards and guidelines that will be used in the assessment and control of the creation and maintenance of courseware and additional supporting learning materials.
  • Work with Instructional Designers and Developers to ensure that (ISC)2 design and development standards are being implemented at all stages of the development cycle.
  • Participate in hands-on review of courses in pre- and post-production for quality assurance.
  • Assess course structure and verbiage for adherence to client-specific standards, established course outcomes, and best practices in adult education.
  • Accept/reject feedback from copy editors and functional QA reviewers to remove typographical errors, misspellings, and broken links.
  • Observe production operations and make suggestions for improvements to minimize errors and improve the overall quality of courseware created.
  • Establish evaluation rubrics for different course types modifying as needed to accommodate changing courseware learning outcomes and objectives

Duties and Responsibilities - (60%) Review and QA Learning Materials:

  • Review and test courseware from the perspective of multiple roles (Learner, Facilitator, Instructor) to verify content and materials presented is both relevant and applicable for the intended audience.
  • Assess course structure and verbiage for adherence to client-specific standards, established course outcomes, and best practices in adult education.
  • Conduct Testing & Audits:
  • Perform routine inspections of existing courseware to check for and create resolution plans for issues identified in existing courseware.
  • Create audit reports, and record corrective procedures to resolve courseware non-compliance.
  • Maintain records of issues and summarize corrective actions taken.
  • Meet with instructional designers, multimedia developers and LMS digital developers to address quality issues and discuss resolutions.
  • The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for testing all features, functionality, and localization of the learning materials produced.
  • Additionally, the QA Specialist will be expected to own specialized aspects of QA such as compliance standards, submissions, test case creation.
  • Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, Instructional Systems Design, Adult Education, or related field preferred
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience
  • Preferred experience with D2L Learning Management System.
  • Strong working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance.
  • Experience working with project management tools, preferably Monday.
  • Experience collaborating with teams to develop e-leaning solutions.
  • Strong level of professionalism and creditability.
  • Experience with HTML and CSS code.
  • Experience with SCORM/AICC/XAPI based learning and understanding of appropriate reporting standards in an LMS environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Significant experience using learning management systems.
