About the Role:

We are looking for a summer intern to join us for 8-12 weeks where they will have the opportunity to learn deep insights into how an impactful software development and support operation functions.

Working directly with the Director of Collaboration Capabilities, you will work extensively with the entire team. Our solutions are fundamentally built on the Microsoft technology stack, so you will have an opportunity to work with Azure, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Framework, SQL, and Dynamics 365. Our client-side code is written in React and we use Visual Studio as a primary tool. On the business analysis side, we follow an Agile framework and our requirements gathering consists of user stories which combine into epics. We operate on a weekly sprint cycle, demonstrating our work product to our business partners. Our incoming work is prioritized by a council of business partners on a 90-day cycle.

What We Provide:
  • Visibility and understanding into all aspects of the software development and support lifecycle

  • Direct one-on-one mentorship with the Director of Collaborating Capabilities

  • A hybrid working environment with 3 days in our Chevy Chase, MD office and 2 days remote per week

What You'll Do:

We plan to offer you exposure to a full range of activity; from how software requirements are created, to the tools and techniques we use to build solutions and finally troubleshooting and support of deployed solutions. Based upon your interests, we will lean into the things you are most curious about, while still providing a comprehensive picture.

What You Bring:
  • An in-progress undergraduate degree - not necessarily be majoring in a technical field of study, perhaps business, social sciences, or liberal arts

  • A driven curiosity about opportunities in a software solutions environment

Regardless of your background, tell us your WHY! We want to know how this opportunity will help you on your journey toward a fulfilling future! Share some background about yourself that you believe makes you well suited to the opportunity and/or the impact it might have on building your future. How will this opportunity lift you up, add insight or clarity, or generally benefit you in ways that stand out? We're looking to learn from you as well, broaden our perspectives and understanding with your thoughts and insights. Wow us with your WHY, and you might just gain the opportunity for an enrichment experience well beyond what others might offer you! A voyage of discovery!
