An engineer in this role ensures that Apple products meet the exacting touch performance standards in terms of hardware and user experience. Key Qualifications
Description The job involves development and execution of validation and characterization methodologies for Apple's touch solutions, from proof-of-concept to mass production. The engineer acting as a Direct Responsible Individual will be responsible for: Developing and implementing rigorous validation plans for touch systems using state-of-the-art robotics Using design-of-experiment concepts, advanced tools and data analysis to perform failure analysis, working cross-functionally with electrical, firmware and algorithm teams to drive root-cause diagnosis, and proposing corrective actions based on holistic system-level understanding Authoring reports and communications pertaining to key results and checkpoints Creating performance metrics and automated test solutions for new touch technologies Managing vendors to implement validation tools, plans, and infrastructure at vendor sites Business travel (up to 20% domestic and international travel) to support product development is required in this role Education & Experience BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline with relevant experience. MS/PhD preferred. Prior work or internship experience in analog/mixed-signal verification/validation/ product/application engineering is a major advantage. Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits
