Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's Degree required and 2-8 years' experience
  • Effective communication and analysis skills
  • Demonstrated success in systems or software modeling using SysML, UML or a similar graphical modeling language
  • Experience with Requirements Management, Requirements writing and Requirements Management tools
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles
  • Formal education or equivalent experience in a systems or software engineering discipline


DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • OCSMP Certification as Model User or Builder
  • INCOSE Certification as ASEP or CSEP
  • DoD Acquisition / DoDAF experience
  • Familiar with Agile Development Practices such as Scrum, Scale Agile Framework (SAFe)

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Works hand in hand with project leads, system architects, software and hardware engineers, and testers to create comprehensive SysML models which accurately document the system under development from requirements through delivery
  • Assists with model based Requirements Management on one or more DoD projects
  • Develops and maintains SysML models in support of various DoD project efforts
  • Performs Requirements Management for DoD projects using MBSE tools and techniques
  • Provides guidance to other team members on model development and MBSE best practices
  • Elicits information to be included in model through technical discussion with program stakeholders and team members
  • Engages with project leadership to understand project and implement MBSE process improvements
  • Works with product owners and scrum masters on a regular basis to develop and maintains Epics, Stories and a prioritized backlog of MBSE related tasks needed to fulfill project timelines and deliverables
  • Communicates MBSE progress through a series of iterative deliverables and demonstrations
  • Minimal travel may be required
