Responsibilities

Draper's Computer Systems Security group is hiring a Senior Computer Scientist / Engineer for research and development in various topics related to secure computer systems design and applied computer science. The candidate will participate in all aspects of R&D, from idea to prototype development.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    A candidate must hold an M.S. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline with 5 years' experience or a Ph.D. in one of these fields.
  • Familiarity and facility with two or more of the following topics: computer security, computer architecture, hardware/software codesign, operating systems, hypervisors, compilers, or binary instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated competence in systems programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Rust), Assembly (e.g., ARM, RISC-V), ), and low-level development is required.
  • Candidate should be capable of engaging in self-directed work as well as participating in a larger team. Original thought and strong creative problem-solving skills are a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux kernel internals, seL4 microkernel, Rust language, RISC-V (ISA and implementation), and compiler instrumentation is desired.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are also desired.
  • Deep understanding of microarchitecture implementations and vulnerability analysis.

*Candidates should be able to attend as needed, in either Cambridge, MA HQ or Reston, VA offices.

Security Requirement:

May be required to obtain a US security clearance.
