Responsibilities:

• Work on projects of diverse scope and complexity to design, implement, modify, test, debug, and deploy software systems and infrastructure as code to public clouds.

• Responsible for performance, reliability, availability, scalability, and security. Services are delivered to applications through standard and proprietary protocols via APIs and/or web services.

• Collaborate across functional teams to collect requirements for product features and plan the project roadmap.

• Develop design specifications for the features and conduct reviews with the team.

• Mentor more junior team members to help them grow and hone their technical skills.

• Coordinate with various cross-functional teams to achieve a common goal through discussion and planning technical solutions.

• Apply agile development methodologies to build software

A Lot About You:

You are a Backend Engineer interested in working on back-end technology stacks for our application and infrastructure to maintain multiple internal services used by Yahoo to manage on-demand cloud computing accounts. In this role, you will build new service features to improve how Yahoo manages costs, utilization, security, and governance programs.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of experience

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering with solid programming knowledge and hands-on experience

• Ability to demonstrate sound development and CI/CD practices, object-oriented and service-oriented architecture, and design patterns

• Experience with Golang, Node.js, and Docker containers as development/runtime environments

• Experience in building infrastructure as code with AWS or other cloud computing platforms

• Ability to drive the problem-resolution process from start to finish

• Passionate about large-scale systems and website development

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and debugging skills
