Job Summary:

Avnet's Global HR Operations department is looking for an HR senior data analyst to join our Data as a Service team. In this role, you'll work with Avnet's global HR team and various business stakeholders to deliver advanced reporting and people analytics solutions. A strong background in HR reporting will enable you to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making. You'll partner with internal clients to understand their needs and requirements. As you build these relationships, you'll be responsible for promoting best-practice measurement tactics and maintaining a suite of data visualization dashboards. Your process-oriented approach will ensure we deliver simple, accurate, and consistent solutions that meet business needs while adhering to data-privacy and compliance requirements. Position can be fully remote.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain advanced HR reporting solutions to support Avnet's global business operations.
  • Responsible for Avnet's end-to-end HR dashboard development, including data acquisition, management of the data pipeline, and PowerBI dashboard design, configuration, delivery, and maintenance.
  • Provide program management for monthly, quarterly, and annual HR analytics activities.
  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to drive usage of reporting and analytics offerings, with an emphasis on consistency and standardization.
  • Serve as a reporting subject matter expert for the Global HR Operations team by documenting processes, conducting knowledge share sessions, and providing oversight to the reporting landscape.
  • Provide supplementary support for HR systems integrations.
  • Provide supplementary support for day-to-day HR reporting needs from the business.
  • Keep up-to-date of industry trends and new methods in people analytics, data visualization, and HR information systems as well as business processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Level Specifications:

  • Experience in a similar role focused on HR reporting, data analytics and/or workforce analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs and projects.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate with other resources and positively influence the work of others to execute on deliverables.
  • Experience working with and directly supporting business executives and leaders.
  • Process-oriented, with demonstrated experience in designing and documenting new processes and enhancing pre-existing ones.
  • Understands the importance of testing, validation, proper syntax, and data structure.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to analyze large quantities of data.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion, including operating within various data-privacy rules and regulations.
  • Self-starter with a passion for learning new skills and disciplines.
  • Proficient in leveraging communities and open/closed source resources as aids to design solutions.
  • Able to effectively communicate on complex issues with a high level of effectiveness.
  • Able to organize work and set priorities for accomplishing work in a timely and effective manner.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced work environment; including multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple projects and requests.
  • Able to develop solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables.
  • Takes requirements and works through to a solution while iteratively problem-solving.

Work Experience:

  • Typically 4+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Required Experience:

  • Professional HR reporting experience.
  • HR Data Program Management experience.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Experience with program and project management, with an emphasis on documenting and driving consistent processes.
  • Advanced experience with data visualization development (Power BI highly preferred).
  • Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) proficiency is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in HR data reporting within an HRIS platform (Workday highly preferred).
  • Development experience using Alteryx is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), with responsibility for the end-to-end data pipeline in a medium to-large enterprise environment.

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
