Position Summary:
The John A. Reif, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) seeks Adjuncts to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in Civil Engineering. Adjunct instructors will be given the learning objectives and requirements for each class assigned. CEE offers an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering. CEE also offers graduate degrees including a Master in Civil Engineering, Masters in Environmental Engineering, Masters in Critical Infrastructure Systems, and Masters in Transportation, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, and Ph.D. I Transportation. The Department also offers ONLINE Programs: Masters in Civil Engineering and Masters in Transportation

Essential Functions:
-
Successful candidates will be expected to develop and deliver lectures; prepare and grade assignments; Learn and use the learning management system - Canvas.
- Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class (i.e. office hours) as needed; Verify presence and submit grades to the Registrar at the end of the semester.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-
Previous teaching experience.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in the area applicable to teaching area.
- Currently employed with duties related to the teaching subject area.
- Professional experience substantial in duration and level of responsibility; Sustained academic or business related or professional engagement activities within the last 5 years.
- For those who have taught any college-level course before you must submit teaching evaluations; all candidates at least two reference letters are required. The letters should focus on teaching/presentation skills, domain knowledge and willingness to help others (students); and all candidates must include a personal statement.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. from an accredited institution in the area applicable to teaching area; Professional engagement activities which involve application of specialized knowledge.
