Position Summary

Our overall objective is to drive member value through the development and execution of a global multi-faceted global member engagement program that fosters a deep sense of community for current and future members by delivering ongoing, meaningful and relevant interactions. The program includes, but is not limited to, developing offerings that support current and future members in excelling as professionals, influencing the future of the profession, and making an impact through volunteering and our global chapter network. A focus on and commitment to elevating global customer satisfaction by promoting a consistent and positive end user experience for current and future members is essential as is understanding that this position plays a key role in driving membership growth, facilitating current and future member journeys and enhancing member programs and services that increase our value proposition.

The Volunteer Relations Specialist will directly support and contribute to all aspects of various member-focused initiatives and recognition efforts. This individual will be highly motivated and passionate about member engagement and support and will work collaboratively with the Member Engagement Team.



Responsibilities

    Serve as the point of contact for assigned volunteer activities involved with various programs, coordinating, supporting and monitoring activities for volunteers
  • Build relationships and communicate regularly with leaders and volunteers
  • Create and manage schedule for volunteer duties and responsibilities
  • Conduct trainings, meetings and orientations with volunteers for assigned events and activities
  • Ensure all program policies and procedures are followed and expectations, duties and responsibilities are clearly communicated
  • Make volunteers feel appreciated and respected for their service and contributions
    • Identify resources/assistance needed by volunteers and members and provide operational support
    • Present and facilitate training sessions and informational webinars
    • Distribute newsletters and email promotions to volunteers and (ISC) members
    • Maintain and update volunteer guides, forms, tools and collateral materials
    • Provide regular reports on program activities to management
  • Collect and assess volunteer feedback and identify areas of improvement of the program
    • Develop new resources and tools based on feedback from volunteers
    • Collaborate with other departments on volunteer-related projects
  • Identify outstanding volunteer achievements through (ISC)2 communications channels and awards program
  • Assist and coordinate member benefits programs by monitoring platform usage, providing regular reporting, conducting routine outreach, submitting web content updates, coordinating planned/special promotions, suggesting new promotions etc.
  • Support the Volunteer and Member Engagement Manager, to evaluate and fulfill agreements, collect promised co-marketing deliverables, and manage the relationships with (ISC)2
  • Support the partner intake process and help develop welcome resources and initial communications regarding the partnership activation and onboarding.
  • Responsible for delivering, effectively communicating, and driving awareness for the Member Benefits Programs by sharing information about global resources, educational tools, networking opportunities, etc.
  • Serve as a point of contact for the (ISC)2 partner relations and program initiatives and responsible for maintaining and updating processes/procedures for both.
  • Owns and executes tasks related to Global Achievement Awards which include: setup and maintenance of portal platforms; participant involvement and communications (nominees, speakers, judges, committees, etc.); registrations and rehearsals; and support necessary on-site logistics.
  • Assists in the selection process of judges/review committee and oversees the evaluation and judging process for the awards and other related tasks.
  • Provide support to internal teams with special projects and activities, which may involve working with chapter leaders, volunteers, and members.
  • Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of volunteer, project or program coordination experience in a client facing role
  • Strong proficiency in using the internet, web based applications, and MS Office products, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Must have exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor to maintain business relationships with internal and external staff, members, partners, clients, and teams.
  • Experience working with associations or nonprofits a plus

Physical & Mental:

  • Full-time remote work
  • Up to 20% travel required
  • Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
  • Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
