Job Description

This role is responsible for building profitable sales, aggregating local/district feedback to Category teams and creating a culture of selling! The role maintains constant surveillance of competitors and internal stores and communicates issues and opportunities with all pertinent departments. He or she partners with the category teams in the development of inputs to the Commercial Plan and refinement of communication to store teams. This role also works closely with the store Operations team, to ensure agreed upon execution of merchandising strategy and provides leadership on specific product areas.

Essential Skills

  • Achieve or exceed all KPIs and deliver in-store customer experience through supporting the execution of the category merchandising strategy and total commercial plan
  • Deliver Financial KPIs, for the respective product area (Sales, Gross Margin, Unit movement, Inventory management, Shrink, Quality rating)
  • Accountable for bringing local market needs into the development of Category Team and partnering with Merchandising Planning to incorporate Category Plan into the weekly sales plan
  • Conduct store visits spending the majority of time coaching and developing store teams and assigned department's staff to achieve business results and personal growth goals
  • Monitor assigned department sales trends and pricing reacting as necessary to problems or opportunities and gauging performance against programs/plans to determine the effectiveness
  • Review sales budgets and projections with the Operations team, oversee the execution of department /category strategies
  • Deliver on results and KPIs for specific product areas (Sales, Gross Margin, Unit movement, Inventory management, Shrink, Quality rating) and ensure Department Optimization (end-to-end)
  • Understand competitive landscape and market and report significant findings to Category teams.
  • Functional ownership - drive end-to-end departmental standard ops procedure for said functions and ensure all stores are running that dept to standard
  • Operational execution of the dept including sales plan, training, SOPs, floor plans, and store design/layout and advertisements
  • Follows and reviews NPS (Net Promoter Score) and customer feedback to identify and address issues or concerns
  • Field Managers must be open and available to travel across their district daily and into other districts to assist as needed. Travel is estimated at 75 - 100%.
