Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Systems Analyst III, Enterprise Applications focuses on a variety of technical work and analysis as required for the development of user and systems security requirements. Performs highly complex tasks involving planning, designing, programming, installation and maintenance of college systems. This position is a member of a 24/7/365 global department with travel within the LSC service area and the availability of on-call scheduling.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provides technical support for the College's software implementation. Particular emphasis will be on programming languages and developing knowledge of programming transactions
  2. Designs and develops interface programs
  3. Analyzes current and continuing information systems requirements
  4. Designs and develops programs to address requirements for data conversions
  5. Tests and debugs applications in conjunction with business analyst and users, and develops programs for automatic correction of erroneous data
  6. Works with the College staff to ensure adherence to prevailing programming standards when performing analysis, writing documentation, and testing components
  7. Works with business and operations personnel to ensure business requirements and system needs are met (including technical and operational documentation)
  8. Serves as a resource to consultants and the College customers
  9. Participates in system upgrades and other support activities as needed, and participates in development of improvements to help implement change when needed
  10. Exercises formal supervisory and/or coaching responsibility in a work unit
  11. Responsible for On-Call and After-hour support
  12. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

  • Ability to learn new technologies within a few weeks. Must have solid platform skills

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
  • Required to work on-call and after hours as needed and on a rotating schedule
  • Travel within LSC campuses/locations may be required

REQUIRED Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience with system administration and 4 years of experience with application support. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree
  • ITIL Certification
  • Must have in-depth knowledge and experience with the Enterprise Content Management applications and related servers, databases, image storage and interfaces
  • Certified Associate Business Analyst: (CABA)

PREFERRED Qualifications:

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • Hyland OnBase Certified Workflow Administration (OCWA)
  • Hyland OnBase Certified System Administration (OCSA)
  • MS SQL Server
  • SQL Development Tools
  • End-user and project support experience
Salary

Hiring salary range is $80,523 - $92,601

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
