HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT


  • Supervises activities related to Quality Control including incoming inspection, in-process quality, and outgoing inspection/documentation, and related non-conformance management.
  • Responsible for managing QC team, priorities and alignment with internal customers.
  • Upholds product quality standards and communicates effectively with peer groups and suppliers.
  • Demonstrates ability in quality control and inspection, including measurement proficiency, MAS, calibration, geometry, trigonometry, and interpretation of ANSI Y 14.5 standards.
  • Requires strong organization and communication skills.
  • Assignments are complex and require independent action, decision making and risk mitigation. and finished goods.
  • Negotiates / communicates quality standards with suppliers, customers, and engineers on a routine basis.
  • Demonstrates ability in geometry, trigonometry, and interpretation of ANSI Y14.5 standards.
  • Requires strong organization and communication skills. Assignments are complex and require independent action and decision making.
  • Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE


  • Supervises QC personnel. Includes scheduling workload, employee development, and training.
  • Oversees quality control activities including the establishment maintenance of documentation files
  • Supports inspection data collection and reporting for returned product from both customers and suppliers.
  • Embraces and demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset to strive for improved quality, efficiency and lower total cost.
  • Ensures that quality results are properly collected, reported, and retained.
  • Oversees MRB activities and drives to lower total cost.
  • Works to improve the efficiency of inspection and to reduce the cost of quality.
  • Supervise the quality control function to ensure products and processes are compliant to internal standard operating procedures and external requirements.
  • Formulate, implement and document quality control objectives, initiatives, and procedures related to instrumentation calibration, product testing, auditing, and inspection.
  • Ensure timely completion of sampling and inspections of raw materials, in-process parts, and/or finished products.
  • Lead in the root cause analysis of non-conformance and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee the resolution of defects and related documentation and records maintenance.
  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability.
  • Deliver reporting on quality issues, metrics, and trends.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and production teams to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with specifications.
  • Coordinates and leads daily team activities.
  • May spend a portion of time performing the work of those they supervise.
  • Assists with management decisions and activities.
  • Working knowledge of team function within the organization.
  • Participates in periodic scrap reviews and analyzes materials as required.

  • Associate or BS in Engineering with 5 years of progressive experience in a quality role or
  • High School Diploma with 5 years of progressive experience in a quality role.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisor role.
  • CMM programming - Mitutoyo, Zeiss calypso or, Hexagon.

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about accomplishing tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
