Position Summary

The Director, Portfolio Strategy, is responsible for partnering with internal and external stakeholders to anticipate and discover emerging global marketplace needs and respond with a continuously evolving portfolio of member-benefit and commercially available products, services, and experiences to support the professional development of the cybersecurity profession. This position requires an influential and collaborative leader with demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide content and product strategy.



Responsibilities

    Develop and ensure execution of a robust global product strategy that reflects a data-driven approach and deep understanding of the profession's current and future needs furthering the value proposition of membership and growing (ISC). 's professional development portfolio to $50M+ revenues by 2025.
  • Establish a portfolio-based approach to new product development including a collaborative approach leveraging internal partners and external subject matter experts to anticipate and respond to market needs as well as an optimized product development lifecycle to maximize value to members and professionals and propel organizational growth.
  • Ensure professional development products and services are an integral part of the overall organizational content strategy and member experience and value proposition.
  • Foster an innovative environment across the organization to result in new product ideation.
  • Oversee research for new products and product enhancements considering environmental factors, competitor activities, and market response to existing products.
  • Review and approve ROI analyses for new product proposals and ensure development costs align.
  • Lead highly visible product launches to support organizational strategic priorities that have broad and significant effects on the profession.
  • Lead team in identifying and mitigating risks and impediments to new product success.
  • Represent the organization externally with prospective and existing members to support new product ideation and launches.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Business and Channel Development and externally facing with high-profile clients to deliver standard or customized professional development offerings to meet client needs.
  • Work collaboratively with Events, Webinars, Education, Marketing and Communications teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Champion agile principles in new product development to drive innovation, efficiency, and increased ROI.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders; effectively manage conflict; assess cross-functional team capability to deliver on successful launches; and improve collaborative development results.
  • Motivate and lead a diverse, high-performing team, utilizing effective talent management practices to attract and retain team members. Ensure high levels of employee engagement, operations performance excellence, commitment to continuous learning and appropriate succession planning.
  • Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of product portfolio management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated experience developing professional development product strategy for complex and rapidly changing technical profession
  • Experience within a global nonprofit professional organization or association preferred

  • Experience managing relationships with prominent professionals
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and public speaking skills; confidently articulate information in a professional manner to individuals at all levels including internal and external stakeholders and clients

Physical & Mental:

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time, may also include overnight and international travel
  • Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
  • Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
