The Synopsys IT (Information Technology) cloud team is responsible for providing a best-in-class EDA (Electronic Design Automation) Infrastructure & Design environment, optimized to meet the scale and complexity of the EDA workload.

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Senior Manager with expertise in Linux, Openstack, and Ansible to be a change agent for our leading-edge transformation. The successful candidate will manage teams handling a challenging and varied array of problems in how we gain further maturity in scaling HPC environment, processes, and technical support capabilities.

As the HPC Infrastructure Engineering Senior Manager, you will help design and execute our initiatives consisting of high-performing, innovative solutions. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the infrastructure engineering team, ensuring that they are meeting project deadlines and delivering high-quality work. You will also lead and part of team for improving quality of engineering technical support and SLA (Service Level Agreements)

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various variants of Linux Operating systems specifically RedHat and Ubuntu, Virtualization with focus on Openstack, and automation with Ansible, DevOps tools and processes. You will have experience managing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and will be comfortable working with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure stability and scalability of Engineering environment running Linux on Openstack as well as BareMetal systems

• Collaborate and lead part of L2/L3 support team across global ensuring smooth 24x7 Operations with emphasis on support quality and SLA

• Measure and optimize performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve.

• Evaluate and adopt innovative technologies and services in Servers, Storage/Backup, and Network for scalability, robustness.

• Utilize your experience and problem-solving skills to help prevent and investigate production issues.

• Participate in the design and implementation of new system layers of high complexity EDA/HPC design environments.

• Hardware Capacity planning/acquisition/budgeting

Desired Skills:

Managed infrastructure-focused engineering team with multiple years of experience focusing following areas:

• Technical and in-depth knowledge of Linux Operating System

• Experience with virtualization technologies like large scale Openstack/virtualization deployment

• Technical Support

• Ability to lead/build/motivate technical support team

• Reliability Engineering

• Domain Knowledge of the underlying infrastructure services Networking, Storage, and Server Hardware.

• Proven experience in High-Performance Computing environments for HPC/EDA.

• Proven problem-solving / troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications/Experience

• MS in Computer Science or equivalent

• Relevant experience of 7+ yrs.
  
  The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $130,000-$227,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
