The Capital Group Companies Inc. is one of the world's largest global investment management firms, well known for its research-driven, long-term investment philosophy. Our fast-growing North America Client Group is responsible for marketing our investment services to a broad range of clients across the region. The Global Fee Consulting team, based in Los Angeles, is currently looking for a Fee Consulting Analyst.

The Global Fee Consulting team is composed of 11 associates worldwide, with eight associates dedicated to the North America Client Group. The team is responsible for supporting the growth of our business, through the effective management and implementation of fee policy across the full range of investment products offered by the Capital Group globally.

As a Fee Consulting Analyst, you will support the establishment of fee policy in line with strategic priorities, maintain the existing fee guidelines, and be the point person for client fee issues and requests. You will be a part of fee projects and function as liaison with leadership, oversight groups, client relationship teams, operations, and others across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities of The Role
  • Capital Group fee policy: Assists in the development of fee policy recommendations and supporting business cases for fee policy and related fee decisions.
  • Develops fee proposals: Assesses and illustrates investment management fee options for investment products and client accounts.
  • Fee implementation: Interacts and partners with key stakeholders from the client groups, legal and operational teams to implement fee decisions.
  • Fee policy oversight: Maintains a comprehensive fee policy oversight structure and directs our partners through the appropriate channels when navigating complex fee issues.
  • Develops detailed analyses and produces materials recommending action plan to oversight groups and senior business leaders.
  • Drafts fee related language for fee schedules, marketing materials, contracts, fee addendums, regulatory forms, as well as requests for proposal and client due diligence questionnaires.
  • Compiles extensive benchmarking from multiple data sources to facilitate regular reviews of the competitiveness of Capital Group fees and expense levels.
  • Engages in fee related regulatory projects and processes, risk assessments, and external audits.


Other Activities
  • Supports and participates in project initiatives focused on fee policy change and implementation, and client fee arrangements.
  • Leverages systems and emerging technologies, actively engages in data management and data governance discussions and participates in system enhancement efforts.
  • Drives to automate and standardize analysis and related presentation materials where possible.
  • Cultivates and manages relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Proactively maintains relationships with the client groups, product groups, Global Finance, Business Management, Legal and Operational teams, and other partners as appropriate.


Qualifications
  • You have a bachelor's degree with a preference given to candidates with related field of study Finance or Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Criminology, Forensic Science, etc.
  • You have 1-3 years of demonstrated analytical work experience ideally within the financial services industry, a consulting firm or large accounting firm.
  • You can tailor your communication approach to different audiences.
  • Understanding investment management vehicle structures, regulatory requirements, fees and pricing is a plus.
  • You demonstrate intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in complex areas.
  • You understand broader impact of decisions and can effectively communicate with stakeholders or impacted parties to achieve goals.
  • You have a rigorous approach and meticulous attention to deliverables' detail.
  • You have advanced Excel experience (financial modeling / pivot tables / formulas).
  • You demonstrate ability to analyze moderately complex / large amounts of data and supplemental information, to consolidate cross-system information, establish trends, create summary materials, and share findings.
  • You have experience with identifying, assessing, and responding to escalated risks and/or potential risks.
  • You possess the ability to manage to deadlines while maintaining highest-quality standards.
  • You have strong planning and time management skills, yet flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $111,404-$178,246

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
