Job Description

Position Purpose:

Operate class B water plant under direction of facility ORC.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct process control testing.
• Evaluates all data and information pertaining to the proper operation of the facility and make adjustments to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Ensures that proper health and safety standards are practiced.
• Monitor all equipment and processes and report abnormal conditions to facility ORC.
• Records test results and operational conditions on log sheets and operator log book.
• This is a part time working position. Must be available for weekend work and call-ins.
• Utilizes computers and software as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however limited exposure to higher noise level (within OSHA standards) may occur.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly desired.
• Approximately 1.5years industry experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
• Good communication skills, written and oral.
• Computer skills.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

• NC C-Surface Water Operator Certification or higher.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb stairs or ladders; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
• The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to distinguish color, close vision and distance vision.
