CNC Machine Operator - 2nd & 3rd Shift Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate all CNC turning machines within a Primary subgroup to produce a variety of standard and non-standard parts to close tolerances and exacting finish specifications.
Refer to Shop Order and Engineering Drawings for dimensions, tolerances, finishes and number of parts to be machined. Follow established procedures, verbal instructions, and information obtained from set-up sheets and layout sheets to operate machines. Use micrometers, venires, optical comparator, microscope, and a variety of fixed and adjustable gauges to check work.
Produce parts for First Article inspection and check parts periodically; make adjustments to correct variances and maintain required tolerances and quality.
Diagnose and correct operating difficulties.
Work subject to process inspection; screen parts for established defect characteristics.
Maintain necessary records. Detect and report unusual conditions and special problems to proper supervisor. Move materials, parts, and containers, as required, in performance of duties or as directed. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and conform to OSHA regulations. Keep work area in clean orderly condition. NOTES: (1) Assigned work areas may change as production requirements warrant. (2) CNC operators are responsible for producing quality parts; i.e. within specification. Non-conformance to specifications must be brought to the attention of the Team Leader or Supervisor. Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Machine shop, CNC, tuning or related experience is a plus
Job Skills: Must be able to run all machines in a Primary subgroup (see below) independently including holding tolerances, and making necessary adjustments; with proficiency.

Abilities: Ability to read and understand complex written and verbal instructions in English Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction) and maintain an understanding of the decimal and metric systems Able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization Pay Scale: $18.00 per hour DOE Other Requirements:
