Position Summary

The Database Administrator administers, maintains, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company\'s databases. Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, synchronization, replication, and other distributed data issues. Assist with the development, review and testing of database objects and stored procedures using advanced programming techniques. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the labor market industry and security concepts. Works directly with clients and technical staff to support the company\'s applications and operational data need. Consults with and advises users of the various organizational data sources and the tools available to access them. Works directly with developers and technical support personnel to anticipate and plan for productive data access, security and utilization. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.



Responsibilities

    Understanding of database infrastructure, maintenance, administration, and design
  • Expert understanding of the cloud specific database management techniques
  • Recommend best practices and establish baseline for system performance.
  • Handle installation ,configuration and maintenance to all database instances.
  • Possess expert knowledge of backup strategies and disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Monitoring database operations and support maintenance activities efficiently.
  • Tune database servers and govern as needed based on access patterns
  • and system limits.
  • Perform daily health checks and ensure recovery strategies are functioning.
  • Troubleshoot, identify and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide off-hours on-call support and work in unison with system engineers.
  • Support all software development life-cycle database environments.
  • Collaborate with solution architects to devise enterprise level data strategies.
  • Mentor development teams and assist with new and existing data interfaces.
  • Enforce naming, coding, design, deployment, and security standards.
  • Enhance current methods, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Have solid problem-solving skills in multiple operating environments and able to complete root-cause analysis on database-related issues.
  • Demonstrate the ability to complete impact analysis on database-related issues
  • Identifying data security related issues and help with improving overall security of the database environment.
  • Provide consultation and assistance to application developers regarding performance or functionality needs; advise on proposed system changes and upgrades
  • Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a designing and implementing databases in enterprise environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud technologies
  • Experience in multiple SQL and NoSQL based database platforms in Cloud(Azure Synapse)
  • Experience in a high transaction volume, 24x7, VLDB, enterprise database environment
  • Experience with performance tuning and indexing expertise including execution plan analysis

Physical & Mental:

  • Up to 5% travel may be required
  • Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
  • Regular use of office equipment in a remote environment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
