Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. This position is in the college's Athletic/Kinesiology department reporting to the Head Women's Basketball Coach, along with the Associate Dean/Athletic Director, Director, Kinesiology, Recreation, & Athletics. The incumbent assists with developing and coordinating the intercollegiate basketball program; trains and coaches the team in preparation for intercollegiate competition; keeps and maintains records and equipment as required; operates within the scope of athletic policies under the supervision of the Head Coach; recruits and evaluates prospective basketball student-athletes and encourages their enrollment at Allan Hancock College; and oversees the preparation of a competitive basketball schedule. This position requires day, evening or weekends. This position may be eligible to teach part-time, and must meet minimum qualifications for a Kinesiology/Athletic faculty member. The anticipated start date is Fall 2024 The incumbent should be available to perform athletic event staff responsibilities 15-20 hours, weekly, during the fall semester or as needed. This may include scorekeeping, ticket taking, organizing student workers, or other athletic event staff responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

Experience coaching competitive basketball, able to perform minimal administrative tasks. Eligible to drive campus vehicles. Practices run 3pm - 5pm Monday - Friday with some Saturday practices and contests. Basketball Season runs begins in August and runs throughout the academic year, until May. Athletic event staff responsibilities are in the evenings and on weekends per athletic contest schedules.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Master's degree in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education OR Bachelor's degree in any of the above AND Master's degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy OR the equivalent.

An assistant basketball coaching stipend is available between $5,000 and $13,000 to cover the intercollegiate season from August to May.
The athletic event staff hourly rate is $19.34 (program assistant III)
Part-time faculty assignments are compensated at the part-time faculty, hourly rates, which are publicized on the part-time faculty salary schedule.
Lecture Rate: $57.72 to $77.18 per hour, depending upon education and experience
Lab Rate: $50.28 to $67.20 per hour, depending upon education and experience
Activity Rate: $37.13 to $50.62 per hour, depending upon education and experience
