General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The applicator trainee's responsibility is to familiarize themselves with agricultural retail and the best practices and processes of an applicator's responsibilities.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

• Demonstrate a willingness to become familiar with all laws and regulations governing pesticide application
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn basic measurements and apply calculations for calibration (gallons per acre and acres per tank)
• Demonstrate a willingness to grow knowledge of all application equipment
• Willingness to obtain the Qualified Applicator's Certification license and attend all required safety training meetings
• Must participate in a DOT random selection for drug and alcohol testing
• Must be able to work odd hours during peak season (6-7 days, 10-14 hours)
• Willingness to travel to other locations or customer farms
• Desire to obtain Class A Commercial Drivers License

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

• Perform warehouse duties as assigned to familiarize with crop production products
• Spend time in various aspects of the business from warehouse, customer service, sales team ride alongs
• Comply and learn all Wilbur-Ellis Company safety rules within the location and application equipment
• Work with precision ag equipment and keep accurate data
• Assist applicator & management team with processing work orders against scheduled dates and time
• Learn the components of application equipment to assist with repairs and maintenance
• Coordinate the use of the equipment and make sure that it is returned in good working condition
• Perform a pre-trip inspection before leaving the location
• Lift containers weighing up to 80 lbs
• Properly complete necessary work records (application records, shipping papers, daily driver report, and all info on work orders)
• Properly handle and store all chemical containers
• Assist as needed around the location

Compensation and Benefits:

• In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $17.88 - $22.64 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
