About Department/Lab:

The Mendell laboratory is located in the Department of Molecular Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. We are a diverse group of passionate scientists investigating broad questions in RNA biology. In particular, we are interested in understanding how genes are regulated post-transcriptionally, how noncoding RNAs such as microRNAs and long noncoding RNAs participate in these regulatory pathways, and how these pathways go awry in human disease. We use a variety of approaches and model systems to address these questions including high-throughput screens, animal modeling, and mechanistic studies including structural biology. We are seeking additional laboratory members who share our passion for RNA biology and are enthusiastic to join our tight-knit team.
