Sr. Research Program Coordinator II
We are looking to hire an Sr. Research Program Coordinator II to support the rapid growth of the SPARC (Sex workers Promoting Action Risk reduction and Community mobilization) Center's delivery and mobile healthcare services. Our program has seen 30% growth between 2021 and 2022 and we anticipate that this trend will continue.

SPARC started as a research study intervention in 2017, which concluded in 2020, and the program has outlived the initial study while also adapting service provision to remain sustainable throughout COVID-19 and other community health threats. SPARC has pivoted its model from focusing on drop-in style services with an overnight outreach component, to a focus on mobile services with supplemental drop-by style services. This has expanded our reach to folks who are most impacted by factors like homelessness, stigma, racism and the war on drugs.

SPARC provides all services at no cost and aims to provide supportive services that are low barrier and stigma free. The rapport and relationships that SPARC has built with non-men who use drugs and or engage in sex work in South and Southwest Baltimore is the most valuable aspect of SPARC's work. The other service offerings of our program include reproductive health care (HIV testing and linkage to care, Hepatitis C testing and treatment, STI testing/treatment, birth control, Pap smears, Breast exams, etc.), case management, peer support, syringe services, overdose response training and Naloxone distribution, fentanyl test kit distribution, and basic needs services (laundry, showers, clothing, food, etc.).

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing and implementing workflow to improve the sustainability of harm reduction supply deliveries and the mobile healthcare program, along with overseeing the administrative and day-to-day aspects of the program.
  • Potential to facilitate peer groups and trainings.
  • Occasionally work in the Drop-in Center assisting with general tasks as needed.
  • Build rapport with community members, including sex workers and local business owners.
  • Participate in outreach shifts, by directly providing harm reduction and supportive services to participants on the van.
  • Oversee day to day program operations including supply management, participant engagement and shift flow.
  • Collaborate with other management team members to create program goals for funding streams, develop program budgets, and support grant reporting.
  • Supervising, training, and supporting outreach staff.
  • Creating protocols and workflows for SPARC outreach to improve data collection and support the integration of RedCap.
  • Reviewing current processes for program enrollment, service delivery and ongoing participant engagement and developing program goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a large transit van.

Physical Requirements for the job:
  • Ability to step in and out of a large transit van.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
