Work Schedule:

90% FTE, evening/night shift rotation, one in three weekend rotation. Hours are based off operational needs of the department. We offer a competitive starting pay, relevant work experience will be considered, this position also includes a shift/weekend differential. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Be a front-line nursing leader for the Heart and Vascular Progressive Care Surgery Unit to ensure optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service and sound financial management.

We are seeking a Care Team Leader (CTL) / Charge Nurse:



  • Direct and lead nursing staff to ensure optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service and sound financial management.
  • Facilitate and participate in daily interprofessional rounds.
  • Continuously assess unit needs by ensuring adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts.
  • Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.


Education:

Preferred - Baccalaureate degree in nursing

Work Experience:

Minimum -



  • Two (2) years' experience in an inpatient unit
  • At least two (2) years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years' experience in an inpatient unit.


Preferred -



  • Three (3) years' experience in an acute care inpatient unit.
  • Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population


Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum -



  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
  • Current CPR/BLS certification


Preferred - National certification n relevant specialty
