Job Summary: The Physician provides licensed medical care including diagnosis, treatment (inclusive of surgery or pre/post-surgical care where appropriate), case management and clinical research. The Physician manages complex and sometimes unpredictable situations. The Physician must be competent in technical, clinical and surgical skills (where appropriate), cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve those patients receiving the above mentioned services. The Physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physicians standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center.

Job Description: The Havener Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University is a growing practice. We are currently seeking applicants for a full-time clinician faculty position in the subspecialty area of Oculoplastic Surgery. This is an open search for tenure or non-tenure track at the Assistant Professor level or higher, commensurate with experience. Faculty candidates will be responsible for patient care, research, and education primarily in our OSU multi-specialty medical office buildings and surgical suites in the metro Columbus area. Participation in coverage at Columbus VA is also required.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must be board eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment. State of Ohio and DEA licensure required. Qualified candidates must hold a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree and have completed an approved residency program in Ophthalmology. Subspecialty training in an ASOPRS-approved fellowship or membership in ASOPRS is required. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management in the area of subspecialty, demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery by evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications, and commitment to resident, fellow and medical student education is required.
