Ordnance Inventory Technician

Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for an Ordnance Inventory Technician. The job location is at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD.

Scope of Performance: This position is that of an Ordnance Inventory Technician, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head MD. The primary purpose of this position is to perform duties within the Magazine Operations group. This position will be full-time technician and shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Technician will work in all explosive and chemical processing areas as determined by management or COR. Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Technician MUST be able to support varying shifts including swing and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wide range of duties involving receiving, issuing, storing, segregating, selecting, handling, prepping, and inventorying ordnance items
• Ability to load, unload and handle ordnance related materials
• Responsible for checking inbound and outbound shipments and movements verifying all required information is in place
• Maintain an accurate inventory of assets utilizing automated information systems and/or paper logbooks
• Assists fellow departments to streamline flow of materials
• Follow written procedures, guidelines, and standard operating procedures
• Ability to operate forklift, liftgate and explosive transport vehicles

Education and Experience - Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• U.S. Citizen and valid driver's license
• MUST HAVE PREVIOUS DRIVING EXPERIENCE
• Class A/B CDL License/Hazmat Endorsement preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
• Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class
• Ability to work with automated computer systems
• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, both military and private industry
