As Director/VP you will be responsible for the systems and information architecture for several business units within our Global Technology Strategy and Architecture group. You will provide strategic global technology direction and target states for our North America Client Group, the Europe & Asia Client Group and Private Client Services. You will play a critical role in leading the definition of target states for these key components of the IT architecture and communicating this strategy to our stakeholders around the world.

In this function you will be part of the Global Technology Strategy and Architecture organization. This broader organization reports to Capital Group's Global CIO. The functions within global architecture are IT Portfolio Architecture teams, aligned to our primary business units, Full Stack/Domain Architecture, and our Emerging Technology function.

More specifically, within this IT portfolio, you will:
  • Be responsible for the delivery of architecture target states for this application and data portfolio which are defined through highly-effective collaboration with your business and technology partners including the Client Group CIO and aligned with Capital Group's long term strategy
  • Build target state architectures which meet the needs of Capital's global business, incorporating input from stakeholders around the world
  • Guide the design of solutions for this portfolio that are fit for purpose and both pragmatic and aspirational, achieving appropriate global scale with sufficient local agility, and will evolve Capital's technology to be aligned to business outcomes, roadmaps, and our long-term strategy
  • Influence innovation and progress through technology, expanding ITG associates' views of how work can get done to help Capital continuously improve our clients' experience
  • Partner across IT to influence and accelerate our cloud transformation for this portfolio in a balanced and transformative approach
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the architecture function in Capital

You are a candidate for this role if:
  • You are an inspiring technology leader with experience driving successful technology transformations and facilitating change within a large-scale, complex environment
  • You are credible and influential, able to communicate strategic and highly complex technical information to diverse stakeholder groups and audiences at all levels
  • You set clear and challenging goals and are driven for you and your team to realize improved performance and results.
  • You possess enterprise architecture experience or knowledge
  • You demonstrate technical depth and breadth, and are fluent in key aspects of technology and data relevant to this portfolio (e.g. sales enablement systems such as Salesforce).
  • Previous experience implementing and operating client-facing and sales enablement systems for a global organization is an advantage.
  • You have experience transforming a legacy environment into a modern, scalable architecture with efficient, interoperable solutions supported by the latest technologies
  • You possess commercial acumen, are knowledgeable about the business environment, and can translate key business objectives and customer needs into an effective architecture strategy and plans
  • You have a global mindset, and consider all of our operating regions when evaluating impact and making key decisions around technology, architecture, and people
  • You have demonstrated the ability to manage ambiguity and tackle challenging assignments pragmatically
  • You have an innovative mindset and lead and develop teams by setting the tone, driving business results, investing in their development, and overseeing their performance.


Southern California Base Salary Range: $233,194-$396,430

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
