About this Position:

The Electrical Design Robotics role provides high quality, reasonably priced, on-time robotic hardware, software, and safety designs to ensure stable new model and new technology introduction in all HDMA North American manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities include:

* Manage project by preparing installation plans, schedule, and coordination of deliverables.

* Create documentation deliverables for robotic system installation.

* Act as designated project leader for smaller scale developments. Identify project criteria and requirements and manage the overall execution of activities.

* Support or perform simulation studies for robotic applications.

* Support Electrical and Mechanical Manufacturing with system installation and troubleshooting.

* Perform robot system evaluation checks and buyoffs at Honda and Robot vendors.

* Perform robot programming in both online and offline scenarios.

* Perform robot configuration and setup in both online and offline scenarios.

* Coordinate the activity and confirm the work of robot programming contractors.

* Attend equipment specification and design reviews and provide technical advice.

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

* Co-op experience with a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree.

Required Education:

* Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related Manufacturing discipline or can have the following degree/experience:

o 2 years technical degree in Automation, Manufacturing, or equivalent technical training program.

o 2 years technical degree in Programming or Electronics.

o 6 years' experience on the job training in technical trade / industry.

Desired skills:

* Microsoft Office Product proficiency, Robot CAD Simulation Proficiency.

Additional Position Factors:

* Based on project needs, work in the engineering office at a desk station or the plant floor.

* Ability to support robot installations all over North America, including weekends and shutdown work in the plant. 40-50 hours per week, up to 20-40% weekends per year.

* Work in all FRAME departments, WE (Weld), AF (Assembly), PA (Paint), ST (Stamping), POPA (Plastics).

* Some troubleshooting or hands on work with the robot systems and automation can be strenuous, with long hours standing or moving around the equipment.
