Deputy Editorial Director (INDG)

Manages assigned editorial products, with responsibility for overseeing day-to-day operations, editorial quality, operational efficiency, product development, and overall staff management and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with leadership to develop and implement business plans and strategy for assigned publications/products;

  • Strengthens and maintains the editorial quality of assigned products; communicates and enforces standards of quality and style; monitors quality through regular content review;

  • Works with division's directors and other internal teams to assure project and product quality, operational efficiency and budgetary compliance;

  • Identifies opportunities and threats; develops, communicates, and recommends responses to opportunities and threats;

  • Provides regular feedback and recognition to direct reports regarding job performance;

  • Works with Editorial Director and Human Resources to make or approve personnel decisions, and to develop staff to increase job skills.

  • May support field sales through editor-on-calls, training programs, and other means;

  • May develop market strategy by interacting with customers through conferences, advisory board meetings, and other events;

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • 7 years' experience in an appropriate combination of editorial and business management experience.

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience. A Juris Doctor degree may be preferred for some positions.

  • Candidates for this position with prior staff management experience, work experience in Bloomberg Industry Group's target market and subject matter areas, and/or project management experience may be preferred.
