As the Software Development Senior Manager , you will lead a team that builds and manages a suite of Investor Process tools and capabilities. Our investment professionals use these tools daily to monitor and review their portfolios, and to make investment decisions. You will collaborate with the Product Management team, senior investment professionals, and technology associates to create and implement detailed quality technical designs for moderately complex applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.

In this role , you will lead a team of 30+ Software Development Engineers and Software Development Managers and be responsible for their coaching and professional development. You are a player-coach, passionate about our mission , and committed to driv ing superior long-term investment results through the application of modern engineering and data management methods . You possess a solid understanding of management science and principles.

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or a related technical field
  • You are a people leader, capable of leading a team of engineers and engineering managers while developing and mentoring individuals on the team.
  • You encourage your team to be effective and efficient through a metrics-driven analytical approach.
  • You are a hands-on manager, architecting, designing, and guiding your team members , and have the technical ability to provide feedback in design reviews and code reviews.
  • You l ead by example and coach your team managers and leads to do the same.
  • You are invested in c ontinuous process improvements.
  • You have the knowledge to p rovide technical guidance to the team.
  • You can seamlessly partner with Product, business users, Architecture, Enterprise Data Office, and other technology teams .
  • You consistently reinforce company and organizational values, think and plan strategically, lead the definition of your team's culture, and drive team execution.
  • You lead through influence while driving cross-organizational initiatives and not through direction.


Qualifications:
  • You have e xtensive prior experience as a software engineer, with a solid understanding of software engineering best practices ( e.g. Agile software development, test-driven development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, etc . )
  • You are an e xperienced manager of software engineers preferably with experience leading multiple teams through other managers .
  • You have a sound foundation in Computer Science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms , and complexity analysis.
  • You are p assionate about management, leadership, and management science.
  • You possess the business acumen and the ability to communicate effectively with your team , distributed teams , and with the leadership team.
  • You are highly qualified in developing solutions with an emphasis on the ideal user experience for a globally distributed user base is highly desired.
  • You have prior experience and knowledge of the following:
  • D esign patterns including distributed systems design and OOD.
  • D ata stores, SQL and No-SQL preferred.
  • AWS services (S3, containers - ECS & EKS, Lambda) preferred.


Southern California Base Salary Range: $184,252-$313,228

Seattle Base Salary Range: $184,252-$313,228

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
