Senior Tax Accountant (Virtual)

Role Overview

The Senior Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for the preparation and filing of the US federal consolidated corporate income tax returns and supporting the ASC 740 tax provision calculations. Additionally, will perform tax account reconciliations, estimated tax calculations, forecasts, and assist in other projects as assigned.

What You'll Be Doing

US Income Tax Compliance:

• Prepare the US consolidated federal corporate income tax return filings, including proforma Form 1120 returns and support the US consolidation.
• Prepare return to provision calculation.
• Assist in the preparation and/or review of state income tax compliance.
• Maintain the Corptax System (set-up and administration).

Tax Accounting/Financial Reporting:

• Prepare the current and deferred tax calculations, rate reconciliation, supporting calculation and work papers and documentation for ASC 740.
• Prepares journal entries in PeopleSoft.
• Assist in consolidating the worldwide tax provision on a legal entity basis.
• Assist in reporting and the proper presentation in financial systems.
• Assist in providing audit support to the financial audit tax team.

Other:

• Assist with tax modeling, projections, and forecasts and quarterly estimated federal tax payments.
• Prepare quarterly tax account reconciliation of general ledger tax accounts.
• Special projects on as needed basis, miscellaneous filings, audit and other notice responses, etc.

What You Bring to SIRVA BGRS
* 5-7 years of corporate income tax experience (Corporate tax department and/or public accounting)
* Experience in federal corporate income tax and ASC 740
* Experience with Tax Compliance Software (Corptax), Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft is a plus
* Highly proficient in Excel
* Strong communication skills
* Eager to learn and grow and a self-starter requiring minimal supervision
* Education and Certification Requirements: B.S. in Accounting, CPA and/or MST preferred

We anticipate the pay range for this role $80,000-$106,000. Actual compensation will be based on skills and experience.
