Resource Nurse Responsibilities/ Duties: The Resource Nurse is a qualified, experienced and a multi-task-capable Licensed Nurse covering as coordinator for skilled and assisted living and IL Clinic and will be responsible for the following:
- Assist in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and coordinating of the neighborhood activities.
- Assist in the admission process to validate all items have been completed by assigned nurse coordinator utilizing the admission checklist.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel; as well as other departments within the community to assure that the department services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
- Assist in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and coordinating of the neighborhood activities.
- Assure that a stock level of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc. are maintained at adequate levels. Requisition equipment and supply needs as required.
- Work with the community's consultants as necessary and implement recommended changes as directed by the DON or designee.
- The Resource Nurse will review the 24-hour reports, progress notes, new orders, new admission paperwork including all assessments, unplanned discharges, lab tracking, incident management, and concerns. The Resource Nurse will ensure follow up is completed based on items identified in the review and scribe the information to the applicable audit tools. i.e., care plan.
- Other Resource Nurse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education required: Must be, as a minimum, a graduate of an accredited RN or LPN school of nursing. Experience required: Must have, as a minimum, training in a hospital, skilled nursing community, or other related medical community. Training in rehabilitation and restorative nursing practices is preferred. Professional license or certification requirements: Licensed Nurse (RN preferably) unencumbered in the state of North Carolina. C.P.R. certification Specific skills, knowledge and abilities required:
- Must possess a valid and current RN/LPN license in the state of North Carolina.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures
- Possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and coordinate professional and non-professional personnel.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the nursing service department.
- Maintaining the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc.; maintaining the appearances of nursing areas; and regular inspection of nursing units for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
