IMEG. is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Landscape Architect Graduate - Designer 1 in our Sioux Falls SD office. As a The Landscape Architect Graduate - Designer 1 will be responsible for assists Senior Project Engineers or Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation. May emphasize in traffic, municipal, transportation or other specialized area.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Perform basic calculations based on assignment i.e. hydraulic calculations, traffic projections, piling or rebar calculations, or calculations to balance site earthwork
  • Pipe sizing and loading calculations
  • Channel and culvert hydraulics
  • Highway capacity software
  • Traffic impact analysis
  • Flexible pavement design and rigid pavement design
  • Geometric pavement and site circulation design
  • Roadway Plan/Profile design drawings
  • Site grading and earthwork computations
  • Traffic signal design
  • An understanding of materials and methods
  • Interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs
  • Regularly has work assignments checked by peer or supervisor
  • Ability to consistently produce high quality construction documents

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3Dsoftware
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible is preferred

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must have passed the fundamental portion of professional engineering licensing exam or be actively pursuing a passing score
  • Prior direct experience is preferred but no prior direct experience is required for an entry level position
