Position Summary

This position is for 14 months and may be renewed for a longer period of time based on funding.

This individual will serve as the research technician for forest health, silviculture, and forest productivity work. The position provides support, both fieldwork and lab work, to the two Assistant Professors and one Professor. The successful candidate will be housed in Tifton at the UGA Research Center.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Knowledge and basic understanding of biological systems. A meticulous attention to detail is needed when handling research materials and routine/recurring techniques.. Able to work independently, use good judgment, and trouble-shoot technical activities. Computer skills for data organization and report preparation are also necessary. Ability to work well in a team and liaison among various project personnel.

Physical Demands

Stand for long periods of time, to withstand hot and humid summer field conditions. Lift 50 pounds over one's head. This position may work with hazardous chemicals. Driving.
