Position Summary |
This individual in this position will perform, result, report and evaluate all diagnostic laboratory testing processed and performed at University Health Center independently, accurately and in a timely manner. |
Additional Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification |
Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field and has satisfied the academic requirements of the State of Georgia Laboratory Licensure Law, chapter 290-5-29-.06. Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientisted (MLS) (ASCP-certifed) or equivalent. Two years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience as a medical laboratory scientist. Preferred: Electrocardiograms and Phlebotomy qualifications preferred. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and employees within the organization. |
Physical Demands |
-Able to see objects closely, as in reading and microscopy.
-Able to decipher color.
-Able to hear normal sounds, as in answering telephone.
-Able to give and receive verbal commands.
-Able to push, pull or lift objects with minimum effort continuously, moderate effort frequently, and maximum effort occasionally.
-Able to sit, stand, or remain on feet for 50 minutes consecutively, 8 hours per shift.
- Able to perform motor skills. |
